I decided to put all of my Disneyland ponies together in one shot, so we could see them all next to one another! I thought it was also appropriate to show them actually *in* the place they're representing, too! Don't forget that every pony has a Hidden Mickey on them!

♪When you wish upon a star...♫ Presenting the Disneyland Ponies-- ponies that are themed after every "land" in Disneyland located in Anaheim, California. Disneyland has become a very special place to me now that I live in Southern California, and now that I work in the theme park design industry. After having visited Disney for the 8th time this year, I decided that themed ponies only made too much sense. Anyone who has visited Disneyland Park (or the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, despite minor differences) will probably understand the influences in each of these ponies. Also, Disney has a thing for "Hidden Mickeys" in their parks, so I definitely included some "Hidden Mickeys" in my designs here.

Fireworks, the majestic alicorn, has a fireworks show that is the envy of all Equestria. Fireworks is based on Main Street USA, the big entrance road that contains lots of shops, galleries, and cafes. It typically has multiple parades throughout the day, and gorgeous fireworks shows at night. I decided to make her an alicorn because I see "Mane Street USA" as the leader of the other ponies. Main Street is, after all, the first area you go through in the park, and where the magic begins.

The daring pegasus Galaxy loves to navigate Space Mountain at top speed! Galaxy is based on Tomorrowland, which is the futuristic space area. It includes the famous Space Mountain and Star Tours, which are two of my favorite rides. Her hair is, obviously, space. Her outfit is influenced by the Buzz Lightyear girls that you can spot in the Disneyland parade.

The musical unicorn mare Sweetsong sings to her animal friends at her beautiful castle. Sweetsong is based on Fantasyland, the fairy-tale themed area that includes Sleeping Beauty's castle, and the Teacup Ride. She has some design influences from various Disney Princesses, including Aurora and Rapunzel. The majority of the princess face characters can be spotted here.

Spurs, the cheerful earth pony stallion, loves to ride the train and play with his faithful buddy, Critter. Spurs is based on Frontierland, and has a dash of Woody from Toy Story added into the design. This Wild Western-themed area of the park includes Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Mark Twain Riverboat. His pal Critter is based on Critter Country, a smallish part of the park that includes Splash Mountain.

Mint Julep, the delicate unicorn mare, watches the antics of some pirates from her exquisite (and haunted) mansion. Mint Julep is based on New Orleans Square, which is a winding set of streets that includes many cute little shops and food areas (including some delicious clam chower in sourdough bread bowls!). It includes the Pirates of the Carribbean ride, and the Haunted Mansion as well. Her design has the feel of the Square in mind, with color influences from the Haunted Mansion ghosts.

Tiki, the brusque pegasus stallion, protects a mysterious temple from would-be explorers. Tiki is based on Adventureland, which includes the Tiki Room, the Indiana Jones ride, and the forever long line to get "Dole Whips" (a delicious soft serve and pineapple treat). His mask is vaguely reminiscent of the various masks and designs seen in the area.

Adorable little Toonie doesn't have his cutie mark yet, but he guesses it'll be some mouse ears. Toonie is a tiny colt who is based on Mickey's Toontown. This area is extremely cartoonish in design, and a lot of the Disney mascot characters (and their houses) can be seen here. I kept his design extremely cartoony, and of course based on Mickey Mouse.
